Hot Chocolate...how it got it's name.
Chocolate. Ok, I'm happy.

It's amazing how one word can evoke a positive response. There are so many types of chocolate, each one for that special pallet of ours. We try and decide if it makes us joyful. Then stick to that one. My favorite is milk chocolate. ..Ok, ok, I know, it's not as healthy as the dark, but it's the little things, right? My favorite one is the Hershey Nuggets Milk Chocolate with Almonds. All other chocolate doesn't do it for me. Ok, maybe a bit of Hersheys syrup down the ole hatch every now and then. ..that's the kid in me. :)
Ok, let's focus here. One specific chocolate comes up when this time of year arrives, the hot beverage that warms our hearts and souls all the way down to those little toes. But why is it called hot chocolate? I did a bit of research and found that the name originates from the ingredients not the temperature.
When hot chocolate started, they used hot spices to add flavor to it, hence "hot".
